Dispatch on the Talent Arena Barcelona

I got the opportunity to attend to the first edition of Talent Arena, aimed at becoming Europe’s premier dedicated to digital talent.
From quantum computing to nurturing trust, there was a talk for a broad range of interests; being AI, of course, the theme people addressed the most.
To me, it was interesting to see, how companies are combining GenAI with more traditional forms of AI–Machine Learning models–, to get results. From what I grasped, data retrieval was by far the most common and significative use case for getting outcomes. Take the case of a large brewery, for example, who improved their sales forecast up to 90%.

Another big consensus on the event was AI is just a tool for human accomplishment, and while many jobs may become obsolete by new technologies, there will be others emerging to fill the void.
I was pleased to see a market emphasis on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), making people part of changes and decisions, democratising access to new tech, making sustainability a must, and letting people experiment under a high-trust environment.
Will there be room for a digital talent to grow, prosper and give meaningful contributions to society and themselves? Time and our collective ingenuity will tell. But in the short time, this 3-day event painted an optimistic horizon and a vibrant space for meeting new people, sharing ideas, learning and unlearning.
